Lenz & Staehelin

Lenz & Staehelin is Switzerland's largest firm. Its international arbitration team was home to the illustrious Robert Briner. He stopped being a full-time member in the late 1990s; since then, the names to know have been Paolo Michele Patocchi and Xavier Favre-Bulle. Patocchi is the elder, now tilting towards sitting as an arbitrator. In a recent survey, we described him as "one of the best of the emerging senior arbitrators" and "simply terrific". Favre-Bulle appeared in our "45 Under 45" and is dual qualified in England and Switzerland.
