António Teixeira Duarte

António Teixeira Duarte (born in 1975) is an associate and works with the arbitration and litigation practice group of Miranda Correia Amendoeira & Associados. António is a graduate of the Lusíada University Law School (1999) and was admitted to the Bar Association in 2001.

António has postgraduate qualifications in E-Commerce (2000) and Labour Law (2008) from Lisbon University Law School and Lisbon Catholic University. António has been with Miranda since early 2008, where he focuses on litigation, corporate law and both international and domestic arbitration.

Before joining the firm, António worked at the Ministry of Justice of Portugal. In 2004, António was appointed by the Ministry of Justice as deputy general director and was responsible for ADR matters. António was also appointed as the Portuguese representative to the committee on civil law matters and ADR of the Council of the European Union, where the proposal for the directive on mediation in civil and commercial matters was discussed. António chaired this committee during the second semester of 2007.

During his time in government, António was responsible for some of the most important government projects regarding ADR matters, namely for arbitration on industrial property and governmental employment disputes.
