Michael J Moser

Michael J Moser is a partner of O’Melveny & Myers and divides his time between the firm’s offices in Beijing and Hong Kong. He has resided in China for over 25 years and has acted as arbitrator, mediator or counsel in more than 150 cases.

Mr Moser is chairman of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and co-chair of the China Arbitration Forum. He is a member of the panel of arbitrators of CIETAC, the SIAC, the AAA and other leading institutions and was the first foreigner to serve as an arbitrator in China. He is a chartered arbitrator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London. He is also a member of the panel of distinguished neutrals of the CPR Institute in New York, the advisory board of the Institute of Transnational Arbitration and the advisory committee of the US-China Mediation Centre.

Educated at the Harvard Law School (JD) and Columbia University (PhD), he is author of numerous books and articles on PRC legal topics. He is also adjunct professor of Arbitration Law at the City University of Hong Kong and is general editor of The Journal of International Arbitration. He speaks and reads Chinese.
