The International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) was established in 1996 as a separate division of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) to further enhance the delivery of conflict management services around the globe. The AAA, founded in 1926, is a not-for-profit, public service organisation committed to the resolution of disputes through the use of arbitration, mediation, conciliation, negotiation, democratic elections and other voluntary procedures. In 2006, more than 137,000 cases were filed with the AAA.

The ICDR maintains specialised administrative facilities supervised by multilingual attorneys in New York, a European office in Dublin, newly established offices in Singapore and Mexico City and a worldwide panel of more than 500 arbitrators and mediators.

The members of this culturally diverse panel routinely deal with complex international controversies that arise out of joint ventures, partnerships, operating agreements, sales contracts, franchise agreements, patent rights and other investment and trade transactions.

The ICDR has established cooperative agreements with arbitral institutions in 60 countries. This facilitates multi-country conflict resolution proceedings virtually anywhere in the world under a set of rules that mirror international expectations and are consistently applied by the ICDR.

Additional information regarding international arbitration, mediation and ICDR services is available at www.icdr.org.
