Domenico Di Pietro

Domenico Di Pietro is a member of the international law and arbitration group at Chiomenti Studio Legale. He is qualified to practise in Italy and in England and Wales having been a member of the arbitration team of a well-known global law firm in London for seven years.
Domenico specialises in international commercial arbitration and investment arbitration. He has acted in a considerable number of disputes, both ad hoc and administered by the major arbitral institutions, arising out of a wide range of industries such as oil and gas, energy, defence, construction, agency and distribution as well as banking and finance. He has also advised and acted in a number of high-profile investment arbitrations administered by ICSID as well as ad hoc proceedings under the UNCITRAL Rules.
Domenico has experience of sport arbitration, having advised on and acted in cases brought before the Court of Arbitration for Sport and the ad hoc division at the Athens 2004 Olympics. Domenico lectures on commercial and investment arbitration and is frequently invited internationally to present papers on several aspects of international arbitration. He has published widely on international arbitration, particularly on the issues of validity of arbitration agreements and recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards rendered abroad.
Domenico received his law degree at the University of Rome, La Sapienza and his LLM at Queen Mary College, University of London.
