Elizabeth Snodgrass

Liz is a senior associate in the international arbitration group based in London. She joined the department in 2004 after practising for several years in the field of international dispute resolution in Washington, DC.
She advises on disputes arising under public international law, including multiple investor-state arbitrations in the energy and infrastructure sectors, a boundary dispute, an action before the European Court of Human Rights and WTO disputes. Liz has worked on several ad hoc and institutional international commercial arbitrations in industry sectors ranging from energy, aviation and pharmaceuticals to manufacturing, insurance and reinsurance. She also has experience in trial and appellate litigation in the federal and state courts in the US.
Liz received a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and has received the degrees of Bachelor of Civil Law and Master of Philosophy in Law from the University of Oxford, where her coursework focused on international dispute resolution and her research focused on the substantive international law governing foreign investment.
Liz regularly speaks and writes on topics in international arbitration, and she lectures on international arbitration at University College London.
